This Sweet Tater Smoothie is one of the many smoothie recipes I have in my Paleo Smoothies cookbook. (Do you own a copy yet? If not, what are you waiting for? It’s awesome.)
Paleo Smoothies is a pretty awesome little cookbook; it has a great intro to the Paleo Diet, it explains why drinking smoothies is beneficial while on the Paleo Diet, it talks about what tools to use to prepare the best smoothies, and it provides an immense variety of Paleo smoothie recipes (one for any and every occasion). It’s a pretty rad resource.
This Sweet Tater Smoothie recipe that I am sharing with you today is a very comforting smoothie recipe. It’s the perfect drink to have when needing an easy snack that not only tastes great, but that can nourish your body and keep you strong and healthy.
The sweet potatoes, bananas and spices used for this blend are in perfect balance; they’ll give your tastebuds great satisfaction! It is a truly delicious drink that can be enjoyed no matter the weather. I like to get cozy (grabbing a chunky blanket and a thick pair of socks) and read a good book while I sip on it. It is such a soothing little ritual. Perhaps it’s the smoothie’s sweetness that brings me comfort, or perhaps it’s the iron and magnesium from the sweet potatoes that soothes the stress…whatever it is, it works. And I love it.
Sweet potatoes are such a fantastic ingredient. They are packed with with vitamins B6, C, D and more that help keep your body strong; they also help support healthy bones, help your body produce blood cells, and help accelerate wound healing. Amazing, right? Sweet potatoes are a wonderful superfood.
