Description

This Spiced Ground Turkey is easy to make, healthy and has great flavor. Pair it with any starch or vegetable dish! It’s paleo, gluten-free and dairy-free!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 lb ground turkey
  • 1/3 cup purified water
  • 1 tbsp black pepper(or, to taste)
  • 1 tbsp sea salt(or, to taste)
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp chipotle chili powder
  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Herbes de Provence spice
  • Finely diced green onions, for garnishing
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp lemon pepper

Instructions

  1. Place a skillet over medium heat, and add in ground turkey and purified water. Break down the ground meat using a wooden spoon. Mix in the rest of the ingredients. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until your turkey meat is no longer pink.
  2. Let cool for a bit and top with green onions. Serve right away.

Notes

  • You can eat this by itself, with a side dish (Brussels sprouts go great with it), or my favorite, in a lettuce wrap.
  • For the lettuce wrap: Spoon turkey on lettuce leaves, add shredded carrots, mushrooms, green onions and sprinkle almonds on top; proceed by folding the lettuce sides over the filling and roll up.
