This Paleo Slow Cooked Turkey and Sweet Potato is the perfect cozy dinner for any fall or winter night.

- 2 lbs ground turkey
- 2 medium sweet potatoes, cubed
- 1 cup baby carrots, chopped
- 2 15–oz cans diced tomatoes
- 1 red onion, diced
- 1 cup green onions, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 cup + 1/4 cup filtered water, divided
Instructions
- Add ground turkey to a skillet, and help break it down with a wooden spoon. Add in ¼ cup of water and cover with lid. Cook on medium heat until no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent turkey from burning.
- Transfer turkey to crockpot, and add in remaining filtered water, garlic, red onion, green onion, diced tomatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, honey and spices. Mix well, cover crockpot with lid and cook on low for 7 hours.
- Serve and top with diced avocados or with desired toppings.
