My husband and I have had a great weekend so far. I love weekends. But who doesn’t? It’s our own private time away from work, to let lose, recover, have fun, re-connect with friends and family, exercise, explore…oh my, the possibilities are endless here. As a couple, we have decided to start a new weekend routine…and we are calling it: Yoga Sundays. I used to practice yoga on a regular basis in college, but I stopped due to my busy schedule. My body has missed it and I am ready to get back to it. So today, as it’s Sunday, my husband and I had our 1st Yoga Sunday.
We woke up and had a lovely morning with an eggs, bacon and fruit breakfast, while listening to some chill, soothing music. Then, we got ready and walked to our gym (we walked to it, because it literally is across the street from where we live); once at the gym, we got into this little studio room and got our mats ready for our yoga practice. It was a short, 45-minute practice, but it was the perfect amount of time for us. We got to work on our flexibility and our breathing. It felt so great. I am loving this new “tradition” we have going on. We are going to get new mats next week, which gets me even more excited.
After our yoga, we went home, showered, got ready for the day and made one of my delicious signature smoothies. This smoothie recipe was oh-so-good and I will be sharing it with you today. It’s one of my hubby’s favorites, as he says it tastes like an almond-butter and jelly sandwich. I made him a very large glass.
Let me tell you why smoothies are so special to my heart right now. Are you ready for this? I, Mariel Lewis, am currently writing a PALEO COOKBOOK. Yes, you heard me right. I am so, so, so stoked about this! It’s going to be a super fun Paleo Cookbook – 150-recipes that feature smoothies and smoothies alone.
The world needs healthier, yet scrumptious, smoothie recipes and I am ready to share lots of ideas with the world. I am about to finish my manuscript and will be turning it in to my publisher at the end of this month. It will take a little while to get published, but I will most definitely keep you all posted on its progress. In the mean time, enjoy this Paleo Cocoa Recovery Smoothie recipe. This one’s going to be on my Paleo Smoothies Cookbook, so you’re getting a little taste of what the other 149 recipes will be like.

Suerte con el libro!! Que emoción!
Awww…gracias!! I am very excited and cannot wait until it’s out!
Enjoy the smoothie 😉
What is the difference btw cacao powder and cocoa powder? Can I substitute ?
Cacao powder is chocolate in its purest form. No sugars, no additives. Cocoa powder tends to have added ingredients. You could substitute if you’d like! 😉
Sounds delicious! Any alternative to the banana?
