Description

Learn how to make Homemade Pecan Milk. Easy and quick, and the results are delicious. Use pecan milk to bake, in smoothies, coffee and more.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup raw pecans
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt (optional)

Instructions

    1. Place pecans in a bowl, add 2 cups of water to cover pecans completely and let soak overnight, 8+ hours.
    2. Drain water and place pecans in a strainer. Run cold water over pecans and ensure they are well rinsed. Wash measuring cup and strainer; and set aside for later use.
    3. Place pecans in a blender, add 2 cups of filtered water, honey and salt iff adding, and blend for about 2-3 minutes or until pecans have broken down completely.
    4. Place strainer over the measuring cup and line a cheesecloth on top of the strainer. Pour pecan mixture into the strainer, and use a spoon to help strain the pecan milk through the cheesecloth. Grab the edges of the cheesecloth to enclose the pecan mixture tight, and squeeze for pecan milk to come through.
    5. Transfer pecan milk into a jar with a lid and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
