Are you ready for these fifty 4th of July Paleo grill recipes? They are all out-of-this-world good and incredibly mouthwatering, so I just wanted to check with you first.
This 4th of July recipe round-up is the first of three round-ups I will be doing in preparation for the 4th of July, as it is one of my all time favorite holidays and I wasn’t going to take the food part lightly. Because it’s always about the food, right? At least in my book it is; there is no holiday or get-together that I am not thinking about what I am going to make or bring. Like, not one.
I get that I am a food blogger, and so of course it makes sense that I think about the food part of a gathering, but we all have to eat right? And don’t you think that any event can get to that next level of goodness when the food and the drinks are on point? Yes. Food and drinks make anything that much more enjoyable. Think of those great margaritas you got to taste at that one 5 de Mayo party, or that delicious sweet potato casserole your aunt makes for Thanksgiving every year, or that fabulous filet mignon you once tired on that very first date with joe schmo.
When I was a little girl, I remember watching a movie in Ecuador that showed a day in the life on a 4th of July holiday, and in that movie, a big part of the celebration was the food. I would see corn on the cob, burgers, sausages, watermelon, pies and drinks. How flippin fun. I wanted to celebrate the 4th of July so bad, even if it wasn’t my holiday. I wanted to go grocery shopping for all the food, make all the food, set up a cute display of all the food and then eat all the food! Another huge part of my attraction to it were the fireworks and the people coming together, but I think all the goods (aka food) was what sold it to me.
Do wanna know what the movie was? My Girl. Did you ever see it? If you were an eighties baby, chances are you did. It was such a classic. So cute and sad at the same time; that part when the bees stung Macaulay Culkin? Gosh, so tragic. I balled my eyes out from then until the movie was over. Now that I am talking about My Girl, I think I’ll buy it on iTunes and watch it again. It has been a while since I last saw it. Perhaps I’ll watch it a few days before the 4th of July, so I can get even more excited about the holiday (as if that were even possible).
But going back to the food. A major part of summer weekends and summer celebrations, is grilling! We don’t get to do that year round, due to weather, so in the summer, when the temperature is great and the sun is shining and the days are long, grilling is a must. And what is a 4th of July celebration without grilled goods? Not a 4th of July celebration, that’s for sure.
In order to make this 4th of July a memorable one, I have carefully compiled fifty 4th of July paleo grill recipes that I know will be a hit. These are all to be made on the grill and are, for the most part, savory ones. I have a bunch of meat ones and a few vegetable ones, but they are all Paleo-friendly, which of course makes them gluten free and dairy free. Let’s have a holiday filled with delicious food that is good for us too, shall we?
I know I will for sure be making two or three of the below recipes this 4th, and I hope you find a few that speak to you too. Let’s cook together and knock it out of the park, yeah?
Stay tuned for the two other 4th of July recipe round-ups I have coming for you. I will be pushing them out either this weekend or next week. And hey, quick spoiler alert: they involve drinks and desserts. Yum.
